...The Ranch's answer to you -know - what - with no rules.

Go ahead...tell us what you're having for dinner - we can't wait! Got a cute pic of kitty peeking out of a paper bag? Post it! We live for that stuff!

Math addict? How about a refresher on the Pythagorean Theorem?

Like macaroni and cheese? Tell us why!

So even if you're not a writer or a poet (yet), there's still plenty of fun things to do at the Armadillo!

Oh baby, oh baby!

Well, a lot of us do it.  I wonder why?  There doesn't seem to be a benefit to guilt taken on for no good reason.

Thanks, Westerly.

Well, I do it - mainly because I'm shallow and very superficial...

Is there less to you than meets the eye? I suspect that's my problem.

Correcto!

I really am just another pretty face!

An unexpected package came FedEx this afternoon. It was from my mother who never told me to expect it, as is her custom. There was no rhyme or reason, no special anniversary. She’s a public speaker and people give her stuff – more than she wants or needs.  It turned out to be a Kindle – not the small, earlier Kindle or the new Fire, but something in the middle. My son Luke was on hand and he knew all about it. He promised me I’d never have to buy a book again, or lug one around. He fired it up. We’re on the list. He downloaded that SEAL’s book he wanted to read and sent it to his ipad.  Me? I haven’t used it yet, and Luke reminded me to charge it up. I really will use it, I tell him. Soon. Soon as I finish the book I’m on,

Kindles are very cool...you'll see.

You can buy books, borrow them (even NY Times best sellers), get them free,  download 'em from your library...

your page turning days are over - congratulations!

Plus, a little known secret. If you download a library book directly onto your computer via your USB port and then transfer it to your Kindle ... the book doesn't expire! Do it wirelessly and ... poof! It disappears after the alloted time. Takes a while to figure out how to do this, but persevere (ask your librarian for help?) and you'll be in books forever.

Thanks .I'll ask Luke.

Well, this week was my last week of freedom ... at least for awhile. The corporate types finally got their act together and I am going baaaa-aaaaack down I-95 to scenic (not!) Wilmington, DE, to earn big bucks as an advertising hack. Yay, credit cards! Who-hooooo, business cards! Yippee, consumer loans! (Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, but it pays the bills.) 4, 10-hour days a week for the foreseeable future.

Wish me luck!

best of luck....try to stay awake...

Welcome back to the ... 53% !

Congratulations, Marilyn!

I just finished my first week of work as a "Community Services Worker" for the Department of Social Services.  The job involves driving kids to supervised visits with their parents and sometimes supervising those visits.  It does NOT pay big bucks.
