TBD on Ning

Bill Pojunis passed away peacefully on Friday.

Posted by his daughter on his fb page:

Mom and Dad (Bill Pojunis) are reunited again. Dad passed peacefully with Brett and I by his side last night. We had an amazing nurse and nurse practitioner take us through all the steps. They joined in his goodbye celebration as we shared stories, we all shared tears, and listened to music with Dad until his last breath.
When Mom passed I was angry and had more questions than I had answers, this time was different. I feel thankful of our time together. The last seven and half years especially.
Dad moved to VT to make as many memories as we could, and boy did we make those years count! Dad helped raised Avacyn, Westley, and our current foster child, Lil’B. #WildBillDaycare Dad was always ready to help and never expected anything in return.
Dad’s ability to show kindness and love to everyone he met was his gift. Dad will be the smartest person I will probably ever meet. With one of the highest IQ’s in the world, he never made anyone feel below him. He encouraged people to research everything and for people to never stop learning. To learn cultures, not to manipulate them to what we wanted them to be, but celebrate our differences.
Dad had an impressive collection of ice cream eating shirts and could tell you the best ice cream (even better, custard) places in almost all states.
Dad ran for Congress. He did so because he believed wholeheartedly in being apart of the change you wished to see. His passion for politics, and his love for our country wasn’t hard to miss, mainly because it only took a couple minutes of talking with him, for him to bring it up!
I am most thankful for the life lessons he gracefully taught me. He taught me how to be kind to everyone, even if they didn’t deserve it. He taught me to be gentle to nature and all living creatures. He taught me how to believe in myself. He taught me that winning isn’t the goal to life, friendship is. He taught me to respect everyone, and stand up for the disrespected. He taught me you are only a victim if you chose to be, and with hard work you can reach your dreams and goals.
He showed me what unconditional love is. He lead by example on what makes a loving spouse and what it takes to make a lifelong partnership work. And, he was role model to all other Dad’s out in the world.
Dad, thank you. Thank you for being the best human. Thank you for always listening. Thank you for loving all of us. Give Mom a hug and kiss from all of us.
