Oh....you want Stir's recipe....
Hey....Up there^^^^^^^ Stir....send her the recipe for that bean dish...please.
1 lb bulk sausage (I use spicy hot, of course)
1/2 lb bacon, 1/2" diced
1 medium onion, 1/2 "diced
1 can (16 0z) pork and beans (my store only has 12 oz, so I use one of those)
1 can (12 oz) butter beans
1 can (12 oz) kidney beans
1 can (12 oz) lima beans
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
Season to taste. I use a liberal amount of cayenne pepper, no extra salt.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Fry sausage and bacon together, saute onions with the meats. If you're a guy, DO NOT DRAIN the grease off!!!!
Stir in the rest of the ingredients. I don't drain the beans, but you can for a drier dish.
Pour into an an oven safe container, and pop into the oven for 45 minutes, or so.
Serve with crackers.........and Beano wouldn't hurt.
Serves 8
I divide this up into meal sized containers, freeze, and use when I have a hankering.
DINING UPDATE! DINING UPDATE! DINING UPDATE!
I'm slow warming a container for breakfast right now....I'm gonna fry an egg and add to the top.....maybe some shredded cheese too.
Uh, yeah the bean thing.
Wha-ut?
