I think most of us used this pencil since we drew our first squiggely line on a piece of paper. I'm making notes for an article/essay and I'm hoping that all of you will tell me about your rememberances.

For example, I remember in grade school that all the smart kids (usually girls) had very sharp pencils at the start of each class while the rest of us had dull little nubby pencils. Some worn down to just a couple inches in length and an eraser worn down to the metal.

So, what are your memories? Did you write your first love note with a yellow pencil? ETC.

Hey Stir, there is something motivating about having a batch of new pencils. They cause you to write for the pure enjoyment of making marks on paper. No kidding! The trick now is just to make sure you don't lose that "note to self."

Agreed, Michael!  Thanks for posting the thread.  In a workplace dominated by computer use, it gives an old bastard like me great satisfaction knowing that the whole process starts with me putting pencil to paper.

I like that sentence stir, I'd like to borrow it for my peice. OK? By the way, what business are you in?

Borrow my sentence?  Yeah, that's OK.  If you're going to credit it me, perhaps you could share the piece with us here.

I research the status of real property prior to selling or mortgaging, i.e., I work for a title company.

I used the #3s. I liked them better because they were still dark enough to see and you were not getting up every 5 minutes to sharpen them. You can't buy them anymore in a store. I had to order them special through an office supply store from the original company. I ordered a hundred of them and still have not used them all.
