This is about the other friends we have...or had.

Have you had a four footed friend that happened into your life.   One that showed up unexpected...one that was always there or just there and  you didn't know any different?

I have had a life of many furry and feathered friends in my life.   I have even had some wonderful aquariums that lasted for many years.  I still have a houseful of greenery that I work hard to maintain.

I've been very fortunate to have some in my life that loved me loving them....I was the richer for it.

I'm sure crocs make warm, fuzzy pets.

Or, really ugly shoes.
Found a kitten living in the back yard. He wouldn't go away so I had no choice but to take him, I couldn't let him freeze. As was customery in my family, I named him after a dead realitive--Great Uncle-in-law Martin Flannery. It took a few weeks, but I found him a home. Two days later he was back. That happened four times before I threw in the towel. I had him for six years when he didn't come home one day. I was crushed, I really was, he was the best pet I ever had [Don't tell my current dog, but the best still :-)]. I held out hope, but after six months I knew he wasn't coming back. Shortly after that my allergies started acting up. When I had tests done at the allergist he found that I had developed a rather severe allergy to cats. Of all the things I was allergic to in my life, cats was never one of those things,
I swear that Martin left me with that so I would never own another cat...
I have some shrimp...they've been fine since 2006!  Where they gonna go...?

"I'm on my second cat"........For Pete's sake let that cat loose.....it's been 4 days now Kooner.

!!!  :-D !!!
Five days now.......poor cat...:=(

Years ago...I bought a skunk.   Sweet little kit...named her "Sunflower".   She got along fine with my "Maggie Mae" (cat).

She used the litter box and loved to play.   A few months passed and all was fine until I awoke one morning and found all my yarn unraveled throughout the house...every cupboard door open and contents all over the place.  A bag of potatoes strewn about and each one nibbled upon.

I found her...sleeping on an upturned litter box.  My darling Maggie looking at me with a rather unhappy look!

Needless to say I quickly found a 'rescue' shelter' for her....way out in the country.

Not a good choice in pet...

I have 2 1/2 cats now...plus a couple of shrimp...and a bird that is over 20yrs old.   Had a dog for 12 yrs...sweet boy.

My kids grew up in a house of pets...hamsters..hermit crabs..parakeets..Cockatiels...various inhabitants of  aquariums.

I will always have a companion of some sort...some less needy than others.

Some more cuddly than others....
I have lots of cows.
