MahiMahi (I poached a beautiful MahiMahi filet tonight. With nothing but garlic salt, fresh ground garlic-pepper & fresh chopped cilantro. But it was cooked to perfection. mmm... it was almost... well... it was delicious '-)
It's not "fishy" at all. This sounds bogus, but honestly, when prepared well, it's like steak more than fish. It's white, medium density, I'd say (I don't know much about fish, but I'm giving it a try), and very mild tasting. how's that?
I got several filets for a steal at Kroger a couple months ago & froze them. REALLY big filets - beautiful - for about $3/lb! This was my last one.... :-(
