Just what is wrong with this commercial?

General Mills has gotten some very nasty YouTube comments on this very cute commercial, but General Mills is going to ignore all of the racist comments or internet Trolls and stand by this ad.

Good for them, I just might have to buy some General Mills stock or at least stock up on Cheerios. I love the those Honey Nut Cheerios. :-)

Nothing wrong with it other then Cheerios has GMO's in the product.

"genetically modified organism" (GMO) Hmmmm? That's OK, I still like Cheerios.

It goes to leave one wondering, "what were they thinking?".  What would Mad Men produce if not to cause us to think, but to think what?  And wouldn't they have been attempting to avoid controversy in order to sell their product, or was there something else there, something more subtle or, not.

Much, of course, is in the eye of the beholder, and whatever thoughts or prejudices the observer brings, not necessarily what was intended.  

So, what does this represent or intends?  Probably not what Penny's wanted....or not.
