The short answer is NO
But what is he hearing. It is a cacophony. (Haven't used that word in writing for a long time.)
kind of depends on which wingnuts from the republicans end up leading vote count...boehner has already said he supports the president so that is essentially the old republican apparatus...but cruz has decried any air strikes as 'providing al queda with an air force' (funny how the right wing chants for freedom yet manages to fall in love with dictators so often...must be a fascination with the cleanliness of having only one opinion allowed) mccain and the warhawks are calling for MORE.....rumsfeld said the the goal should be to go into this to do a regime change (iraq part 2....what a dunce!) and santorum who used to call for intervention and military action now is against it....but that might be cause he can't bring himself to be on the same side of the fence as obama... looks like the clown car is full up again...
The whip count has the "No's" way ahead of the "Yes'" and the "Undecided". Don't think there's much chance if the vote was today.
No, not today and probably not tomorrow either.
Senate is up first with a vote maybe next week. If no, really doesn't matter how the House votes, it is over; no red line, no unforced error and most importantly, no insolvable box to get out of, a get out of jail card. Unless, well, that maybe in the future as to whether any and every bad deed gets punished, in the end.
Then on to the budget, continuing resolution and debt ceiling before moving into the Obamacare implementation and maybe immigration, then Xmas recess, New Year's and the 2014 campaign season.
The President's speech this Tuesday has to be his best, ever, to sell what most aren't buying for whatever reasons. The question is, who will be listening?
I'll probably be bust playing solitaire...
