What this is, is possibly a big deal, very big deal, that changes the look and feel of the Middle East if not the substance of all the players and their relationships to each other both in the short and long term. The Iran Nuclear deal is, of course, based on starting with training wheels, as it is interim in time, and though it has conditions for Iran to meet, it still expires unless extended and if extended for how long, with what relief of sanctions and how will it be verified.
Only time will tell of course, but there is a significant risk in all of this for everyone involved, and failure is an option.
In the meantime, this deal and much of what goes along with it will be a significant strain on our relationship with Israel and the Saudis at a minimum, and of course, doesn't resolve anything related to Syria and Iranian support of Assad. To some this is only a rearrangement of the deck chairs, and in the end solve nothing, except to further marginalize and neutralize the United States and the Obama administration in the region.
