Note the President did not say this is a new law of the land, but reading some of the hateful comments on this article, one would think he just mandated this as law. Do these people actually think a sitting 21st Century President is going to say that any law abiding group of citizens should be denied a right or privilege. I do not think so, and if he said nothing at all about this, some of my Liberal friends ( I'm a Moderate ) would be complaining just as loud as the Conservatives.

Could it be they want him to say that Gays and Lesbians should be rounded up and placed in a . . . . .  Hey wait a minute, haven't we heard of something like this happening before?

I say leave these people alone and let them have the right and privileges that all citizens are entitled to.

The more conservative religious affiliations had a fit about the BSA announcing their intention to change their policy and start allowing gay scouts and gay scout leaders into the Boy Scouts.  Which is a welcome change since most scout troops these days are affiliated with Christian Churches.  Times are a'changing.

For heavens sake why not start a troop made up of gays so they'll be comfortable along with allowing them to join in other troops as they please. If a young man is gay and he knows it either his friends know too or he'd fit in anyway. Being a boy scout isn't about sex in any way so it should not be an issue. If there were a boy scout leader making advances I think the boys are old enough and savvy enough now to report it.

Times certainly are changing.  I expect that some years down the road, and perhaps not all that many, most people will wonder what all the fuss was about.  Let’s hope so anyway.
