TBD on Ning

Hey ya'll...I have an issue with the task bar in the text box on teebeedee

I have a MacBook lap top with Mac OS X 10.6.8...no issues I get the task bar...I can use it no problem. I can preview my post...make corrections etc.

But on my IMac desk top with Mac OS X 10.6.8...it's not there...As far as I know I have the same applications and programs on each computer. I have run all my updates and have been on the help site for NING to see if there is something I need to check or click to get it to work. Or maybe something I can check on my IMac thats missing that would impact this?

Any ideas?

NING called it a task bar on their help site...all the little icons across the top of the text box where you can do links and images and media etc...

Ihave to ask the same question as Kooner. Are you referring to the "text box task bar" within the TeeBeeDee site that you write your replies into? (the thing that lets you use Bold, Italics, etc.) Are you referring to the Menu Bar that goes across the top of the Mac's regualr OS X screen....the one with the black apple in it? Are you refrring to your web browser's task bar, the one with the icons in it?

Also, what browser are you using (Safari, Firefox, other?), and have you disabled the addons that you might have running to see what a plain vanilla browser would reveal?

Also, have you recently (in the past 2-3 days) updated your Mac's version of Java? Not "javascript", but rather "Java". It was recently re-enabled by Apple after a series of issues with Java's security, or lack of it.

The text box within the site is what I'm talking about...that you write your replies to.

I'm on Safari...no addons...no ad blocker.

I have updated the Java on the IMac...didn't change that issue.

Thanks for the help...kind of at a loss right now.

Blithe/Kooner....

I had that "where did the Bold, Italic, etc go in my text box" problem back on the old TBD/Ning site, too, and I was told by Quinn that it was a programming issue that required, ultimately, that the programmers who support the whole Ning community would have to look at it, and that I shouldn't hold my breath because it wasn't a top priority to them since it didn't affect "everybody".

I'm running OS X 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion) and using Safari, and I have Adblock Plus and Ghostery both running, and I have not had the problem since we migrated here to TeeBeeDee.

Can you try another pc, perhaps one running Windows? Can you try a different web browser?

I do have my laptop that handles has that bar..I was just hoping it might be an easy click or unclick I hadn't thought of yet. On the other TBD site the IMac showed the bar in the text box.
You how it is...wanting something to work the way it should. I have a work around with the lap top...was just hoping I could use teebeedee on the IMac too with the same features.
