10 Things We Want From a New Star Trek TV Show

"Two things happened in the past week or so: Star Trek: The Next Generation's first season came out in eye-popping high definition. And Roberto Orci said that talks about a new Star Trek TV show are "almost real."

"As legions of Trek fans, old and new, pore over the first year of TNG and revisit how exciting it was the last time Star Trek came back to television, it's worth contemplating just what it could look like, if Starfleet managed to warp back to our screens on a weekly basis. Here's what we'd like to see from a brand new Star Trek."

I agree with just about all of their list.

What would you like in a new series?

Here is some of what I would want:

1. A completely new star ship and crew.

2. I would  like series set in the future. In the 26th or 27th century.

3. The galaxy has been explored and completely map.

4. New warp technology, that would allow the exploration of the Andromeda Galaxy and rest of our local galactic group. See link: Local Galactic Group

5. The occasional visit from a future Enterprise and it's crew and of course joint missions.

I read somewhere (and now can't find it) that the Enterprise J traveled by creating wormholes and had abandoned warp drive.  It could travel rapidly to any point in the universe.  Phaser cannons and photon torpedos were obsolete too.
