Great song, Flipper...yay ya found one from the vault of the 80's.
The song below was the only piece of music that Cat Stevens didn’t write completely....he added the music to a poem he discovered in London at a bookstore one day.
The author of the beautiful hymn of praise to our God was penned by English author Eleanor Farjeon....and was included on Cat’s “Teaser & the Firecat” LP in 1971 (coincidentally right after I had returned from my stay in Canada, due to my anti-war stance during Viet Nam).
I remember those days with both love & hate. Love for all the very cool and expressive music being generated by the kids, and hate for the sitting President, who for reasons we may never fully know, kept that slaughter going and going, until the American death count stood at some 58,000....until he was found out to be the liar he always was....and was thrown out of office in much-earned disgrace.
As a clear example to those who may have missed the ‘60s and ‘70s, check out the photograph below of this “twisted” individual.
The sheer audacity of this self-serving madman to flash the peace symbol as he is supposedly leaving in disgrace aboard the tax-payer helicopter.
We survived Nixon....will we survive Obama?
