I know. I'm glad I'm as old as I am. I wouldn't want to face 50 more years of this.
I often think that same thing, Trish! But then I worry about my kids and grandkids...hope their generations can make it better.
Well, that is true. I came from the Vietnam protest generation. We learned that people had power. I always had an interest in politics and liberalism. My kids can't work up any enthusiasm for politics.
I'm from your generation, Trish. Sometimes it does seem like the kids have just been plain beat down, without ideals or the belief that those ideals could come to fruition. Why try, nothing changes? Maybe because they don't have the interest in history enough to show them that things have changed. Slowly, yes, but things now are basically better than in the past.
Sometimes though, I feel a little beat down.
