Getting what we pay for

I saw on the tube last night where more than 300,000 teachers will lose their jobs before school  starts in September...mostly because of failed levies.  Makes you wonder how concerned we REALLY are when it comes to education in this country.

The Stimulus money sent to states to be used on education went, in a great part...to UNIVERSITY level education...and local districts got very little.  I'd like to see another stimulus package...$1 billion dollars  to each state's education budget ONLY to be used in public schools.

This is speculation, but I suspect we won't get many mill levies passed because Baby Boomers for the most part feel they've already educated their kids and now it's someone else's turn. And Christ on a stick, if you go telling the 2nd Greatest Generation you want to borrow more money to provide yet another bailout, this time for the public sector; you're liable to keep the tea party afloat in hotair and rhetoric until the 2016 elections.
