Will governments concentrate research on balancing ecosystems, efficient heating and insulation or shall we all continue to maintain the oil based system status quo until we've depleted a major life support system?

 

As human beings we are more than capable of destroying our own life support systems, and this has happened to more than one culture over the ages. It takes monumental stupidity to destroy ones own support system, but it has been done over and over. We revel in high technology, but stupidity or is it apathy that  prevails.

That the people who have an interest in petrolium production own enough news sources and politicians to convince others that we have plenty of oil right here if the democrats and ecologists would just give the oil companies freedom to find it.
