In your opinion, what do people really mean when they tell you that you can't join their group because "we feel you wouldn't be a good fit for our group"?

It means that they are elitist, ignorant, antisocial snobs.

That happened to me on this site several years back. I figure, heck, I would not want to be a member of a group that would have someone like me in the first place.

Good replies all, thanks.  What I think I'm sorriest about tho, is the way I poured a little of my heart out to the group mod. about why I wanted to join the group & I don't know if that's what turned 'em off or not; the rejection PM didn't have an "ewww" tone to it, she actually told me to "take care", but I wonder.  I luv what you said, Cali, about them being afraid, that actually makes me feel kinda good, lol.  (Altho they all live 3000 mi. away from me, so they must scare easy. :D)

As Shadowman said "I would not want to be a member of a group that would have someone like me in the 1st place": sometimes I think what's also true a lot is the more you let a group know you want to join 'em, the less they'll want you for a member.  Seems like humans are always wanting to trade up; playing hard to get isn't just for romantic relationships seems like.  Oh, well, that's humans for ya.
