NYC
I'm with Flip, New York, NY ... although Boston and San Francisco are great too. Quebec is sweet too ... and old San Juan.
I've never been to Boston. It is the one US city left that I have on my list of things to that I absolutely must see!
Since the question is about cities, I will respond with a city. (This is a very difficult question, because I am always in love with the city I am currently visiting and I have been to many many cities.) I adore San Francisco and probably would chose this, because the people are so friendly, the architecture is beautiful and there is so much to do culturally. (New York is another absolute favorite - and all that stuff about danger and crime is really exaggerated!) International cities would have to include, London, Berlin and Paris.
Now if the question is broadened to favorite place - then maybe the mountains of Pennsylvania or the hills near Florence would be on the list. The place that impressed me more than any in my life was Bryce canyon! What an incredible, magical place!
Many places I've enjoyed while there. Florence Italy except for the traffic, Vey Vey Switzerland, Cinque Terre Italy.
The European City that I enjoyed that was not expected was Munich Germany, loved the stores and the parks.
I love Chicago in the US and surprise, I also like Detroit. New York was ok, I prefer Toronto.
For all of this I have to say So Far, the best might be yet to come.
