my first husband was a butcher and he would NOT have let our family eat those green dogs

he said not to buy poultry that was "seasoned" with all that red stuff all over i as it was old meat

the beef that has turned dark was ok as it was aged and ok to eat

green pork chops are a no no also

here we do go to the day old bread store where I get some lovely dark rye for $1.00

the weirdest thing i've noticed lately is that nowadays hamburger meat sits in the fridge and turns gray. . .and, if not thrown out, IT TURNS RED AGAIN!!!!!!  Why???

Nothing that has turned green when it comes to meats should be purchased, stored, or served!!! Do ya wanna die? Botulism and salmonella come to mind. You cannot boil it out once it is present. Please!! Do not ever take the chance again. Ice man's rule is the right one. If in doubt throw it out.

I go for the freshest I can find in anything. If I don't use a few eggs before the exp. date I scramble them with grated cheese and give them to the dogs.

One thing I found out recently is that those carrots that look already peeled and ready to munch aren't peeled at all, some chemical has been used to get that outer layer off. I thought they didn't taste right and will never purchase those things again. I'll take a few seconds to peel a real carrot.

I found a funny taste on those carrots also, my daughter uses them.

I would rather peel a fresh carrot and put the peels and tops in the compost pile.

you got that right ICE~MAN
