9/11
I remember that dandy; the blinds in our bedroom went from hanging down to up against the ceiling, Some dishes came flying out of cupboards, a few broken items. Our waterbed was like riding a bronco LOL... The worst part was I thought the aftershocks would never stop, they went on for weeks.
I was a scout leader then. We were camping on Palomar mountain. The pines swayed and our air mattresses bounced around. We shook it off and went on our hike to the observatory. That's when the Big Bear Quake hit. We finished our hike. From the observatory we could see the San Bernardino Mountains and the dust from the landslides. It could have been worse. I've been thru every California quake since the 50's. No big deal.
Me too, Flipper. That traggic evil day, will always remember getting the phone call to turn on the tv and could not believe what my eyes were seeing.
Weddings and funerals.
We were ~20 miles out in our boat when we got caught in the middle of a feeding frenzy. I guess they happen all the time but it was the craziest thing I have ever witnessed
this is main st. after hurricane Irene august 2011.
It's kind of hypnoerotic...
