I know what you mean, but we have acquired so much experience, the 40-50 y/o kids look ignorant to me sometimes

the way they dress? thier crazy hair? the far-out music,I'll never understand kids .

I think it's a feeling of freedom. I no longer have to worry about how people view me....men or women. I know who and what I am....and I like me. I don't require others to validate me anymore. Through 40 years I had to conform to what others expected me to be...as a mother and as a wife. Now...for the first time....I am me, and for the first time I don't have to concern myself with impressing or living up to the expectations of...other people. I dress as I choose, I wear my hair as I choose, I engage in activities that interest me, I watch what I want on tv, and listen to the music that moves me. If you like me....fine; if you don't....I honestly don't care.....not anymore.

The best part about being my age is that, even now, there is excitement about waking up and discovering something new. That my mind can still be filled with childlike inspiration, and that I can also be sophisticated if I want to. There's always something to fill my heart with hope and joy. The air can intoxicate me in the springtime. ....and then I can take a nap and dream! I like having these capacities, and laughing is the best!
