I recently saw a $650 USD jar of face cream at Nordstoms.   To what extent do we go to preserve our looks and fight aging?  Does anyone know of bargain facial cream alternatives that work well?  I noted several in my local COSTCO that looked good?  One reported to eliminate stretch marks and work on the face to serve dual purposed.  Does anyone have advice?

I like to use Wexler products (at Bath and Body Works) and Garnier Nutriste (any pharmacy)
That is interesting to say the least. Does the olive oil cause facial breakouts? Does it have an odor when dry?

However, I have found that instead of wasting money on additives that might eventually be found to cause other health problems (like cancer or rashes, or....) I use extra virgin olive oil. That's right...the cheap, generic store of your choice brand of the same stuff you probably ought to be cooking with anyway.

My mom slathers on Vitamin A&D, the same one she claims they use at the hospital to protect/soothe baby's butts. (She's a neonatal nurse.) She sleeps with the stuff on and to me it looks greasy and smells like vitamins, but at even at age 73, she still looks youthful. She is 71 in this picture:

I was just thinking about posting a discussion about strictly facial & neck creams! Great synchronicity T&T.

Has anyone here followed Paula Begoun's work http://www.paulaschoice.com/product/dont-go-to-the-cosmetics-counte... and if so what are your thoughts?

I'm with Wanda on the olive oil and even more specifically - peanut oil. I buy from the Edgar Cayce Foundation @ http://www.baar.com/cayceprd.htm because of the medicinal properties and the refinement of the oils for bodily use. The peanut oil is amazing - healing properties for muscle ailments and rejuvenating properties for one's skin including the face and neck I use the oils at night - and am religious about sun screen minimum 20 every day - esp. on the back of my hands - I reapply frequently when outdoors or driving for long periods. I have been using many of the products for more than thirty years - and I'm convinced I look as good as I do because of the care that I've taken and the ingredients in the (very cost effective) products.

The Edgar Cayce products has more than 60 years of research behind the applications, based upon the health readings of Edgar Cayce. Easy to research if one is interested.
Here is one for $1000.00 at Nordstroms. Can you imagine spending this?

I'm another Oil of Olay girl and have used it since I was 15. I moisturize twice a day and have recently started doing so around my eyes with L'Oreal Total Effects. I'm not sure how much good it does....it probably just helps me feel proactive. I believe the bottom line is your genetic makeup and your habits (smoking/drinking).
