When I think of classic horror, names such as the 1931 Dracula starring Béla Lugosi, the 1931 Frankenstein with Boris Karloff, the 1951 film Invasion of the Body Snatchers, 1953's It Came From Outer Space or anything with Vincent Price in it.

I would even go so far as to classify Stephen King's The Shining as a somewhat contemporary classic.

Many of the horror films that I consider 'classic' were not considered "great cinema". Most of the modern horror films that I see today, I would also not consider "great cinema".

Which of our modern horror films do you expect to one day join the ranks of Nosferatu and House on Haunted Hill?

Are Freddy and Jason destined for the horror hall of fame?
