My wife and I make fun of our youngest daughter on this. She wasn't raised that way. The oldest daughter isn't that way.

My youngest son and his wife are "helicopter parents". They have one daughter, and the world revolves around her. I laugh at it, too. I used to tell my kids my kitchen wasn't a restaurant; they couldn't pick off the menu. Either you ate what I cooked....or you didn't eat.

Have you noticed any adverse affects of them being "helicopter parents"? Do you think she'll be super spoiled and eventually feel "entitled"? How old is she Karin?

We lived by the old rules- didn't hurt my kids at all--they both survived and know how to get along in this world.

It's a tossup, depending on the circumstances. Meals?...eat it or starve. Walk around the block?...could be iffy these days. In my younger daughter's case, Islamic terrorists were building bombs on the street behind them. Obesity and diabetes run in the family?....eat a better lunch.

Definitely Mom's then.  Look how so many of today's children have turned out....bratty, disrespectful, unappreciative, etc.
