While I personally prefer the music of the '70s, I can recognize that the big band/swing music of the '40s had a very high degree of sophistication.
The 70's.
Although I am a big fan of 50s and 60s oldies, lately I've become fond of a Belgian singer named Dana Winner. She sings in several languages including English. She covers a lot of American singers. Check her out on youtube. Especially the Simon and Garfunkle songs.
John, I just went to YouTube and checked her out. She has an amazing voice. She also does an incredible job of singing Barbara Streisand's 'Woman in Love'. Thanks for telling us about her.
Syble. It was her version of "One Moment in Time" that hooked me. https://youtu.be/N5RIfTn5WU0
Yes, I listened to that one too. She sounds a little like Enya on her 'Sound of Silence' cover but then she has a much more powerful voice like Barbara Streisand on 'Woman in Love' She has a great range of being able to cover many artist's songs. Actually, to make this short..I liked all that I listened to.
I guess I am partial to the music of my youth, fifties and sixties. I think most decades have had some good music but I am not sure that I care for most of what is called pop music in this decade.
