There is an Autobiography Of Martin Luther King as well as books on his writing and speeches. These might be a good place to start
I will check at my library and see what they have to offer on MLK.
I really doubt if there are non-heavy books about Martin Luther King. I don't mean any offense by that. I've read a lot of books about him and the Civil Rights Movement and by its very nature, it's a heavy topic. But definitely worth reading about and understanding.
Thanks, Slopok. I've never been much on fantasy but philosophy is good for my noggin!
No Rapa, I would not consider the novel in the fantasy genre, more in philosophical genre. I read it once and then read it again to more absorb and ponder as I read.
Hey Slopok,
I looked up A GENTLEMAN IN MOSCOW. Would you consider it somewhat in the fantasy genre?

After watching the tv program about Martin Luther King, I would like to read a book about him. Any suggestions? Nothing too heavy.
I have just finished The Devil Crept In :A Novel by Ania Ahiborn.
It's a great read. It's a horror story about a missing boy. I really enjoyed reading it.
Let's keep Bookoholics going.
No rapa never replaced ole Zook, don't reckon I ever will.
Did anyone ever read,A Gentleman in Moscow, one of the best books I've read in a while. I got it from our E library so I downloaded it again and read again, it will probably be one of the books I read again and again over the years.
Some time back in September I read the Newbery Medal winning "Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry". While I realized it was autobiographical, I still had a hard time wrapping my head around what it was really like to experience the day to day racism and fear that her family lived with, true fear and intimidation. Though written for children, it is a book most of us as adults would find arresting. Her writing style truly captures the feeling and her mother and dad very much were heroic and stand up people. Most Newbery award winning books are wonderful for any age although I use the word in this sense as eye opening being as her experience was anything but wonderful. I have read a number of these books and can well understand why they are noteworthy.
