Absolutely astounding, Rapa.  Had seen a few of these previously, but some were new to me.  I so much want to go to Powell's books, or even The Strand in NY.

I've done business with POWELL'S and they have been terrific! Was nice seeing their store.

About 4 years ago, around this time of the year, I made a visit to Oregon to see the places where some relatives had lived, including an aunt who had left me a bit of money. Included was a few days in Portland during which I spend a half day at Powell's Books.  It was well worth the visit.

I have visited many of the cities where the book stores are located, but never the stores themselves.

Interesting, rapa. My specialy is used bookstores & there's one in St. Petersburg, FL that rambles through all the floors of several entire buildings. More books in there than I could read in a lifetime but it's a fun place to spend a rainy afternoon just browsing.

Not on  the list. Tattered Cover Book Store-Denver. A must in any Denver visit. Once when they moved from one location to the other, all the patrons came and moved the books themselves.
