TBD

TBD on Ning

I love a good series!  You can get lost in one book after the other for days or months at a time.

List your favorite series, it's main character, the author, the genre, and the name of the first book in this series....

I'll start with my 'very' favorite:  the Cork O'Conner series by William Kent Krueger...

Genre: highly moral, family based outdoor mysteries (does that make sense?)

First book in series: Iron Lake  (be sure to start at the beginning)

The Inspector Gamache/Three Pines series by Louise Penny

Genre: cozy mystery set in Quebec, mainly in the village of Three Pines, but dealing with man's humanity, strengths and weaknesses

First Book: Still Life (again be sure to start with the first book, not because of plot lines, but for character development)

A tie between the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child and the Chet & Bernie mystery series by Spencer Quinn.  Heck I can think of several more, lol; wish I had more time to read! ;-)

There's quite a bit of diversity between those 2 series!!  Both mystery series, but oh so different!!  We are definitely not one-note readers!!

I love all 3 of those series...  maybe I should just say post one of you favorites... then you can come back and list more!!!

It's been a long time, but I remember awaiting the next in the series: "The Kent Family Chronicles."  John Jakes was an author from nearby Dayton, Ohio.  I lived in Cincinnati at the time.  The genre is historical fiction and the Kent family is involved in the plots that cover over 200 years in America.  There were eight books in the series with "The Bastard" starting off the story line.  I believe they were also portrayed on TV movies.  http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=n%3A283155%2Ck%3A...

I read those books years ago.  Still have them and plan to read them again.  I enjoyed learning more historical details.

Nancy Drew series by Carolyn Keene

Genre:  mystery

First book in series:  The Secret of the Old Clock

Thrived on this series in my pre-teen years!

The first series I ever read :)

My first series was THE BOBBSEY TWINS series by by Laura Lee Hope .  Still have many of the books

My favorite series is by Stephen White, he writes mystery about Boulder, Colo. for the last 20 years has come out with a new book every year. In August his last book of this series will come out, he says he will tie up all the loose ends in this book. Also like the Debbie McComber series "Cedar Cove" they just started the series on Hallmark Channel last sat. I don't have cable so will have to watch it on the computer.

Carci!!, are we sisters from different Mothers? I love the Cork O'Conner series, too!

Jack Reacher as well. More to list tomorrow.

My favorite has to be the   ".....in Death" series by J.D. Robb.
