A movie based on this book is premiering tomorrow (Sun 1/6) at 9 pm as "An Amish Murder" on Lifetime Channel. It's starring Neve Campbell & I've got it set to record. I can't watch it - Downton Abbey returns!!!!
I will be watching the TV movie tho' as I'm enjoying the book series - now let's see what they do to it!

Thanks, tnbopeep, for the thumbs up!!! Like you, will be watching DOWNTON ABBEY and will tape "An Amish Murder" to watch later. Enjoyed the book!
BTW, have you checked out the DOWNTON ABBEY synopsis and read the conversation with Lady Carnarvon, the actual resident/owner of the castle used for Downton? Terrific site if you're a DOWNTON fan! She tells about the library in the castle and those books are real and ancient!

I'll check out the link. I read everything I can on DA & I've seen several pieces with Lady C. When this series ends I'll have to go thru some sort of recovery program!
I read "Breaking Silence" by Castillo a few months ago. It was a well written Amish detective story. I don't know if '"Sworn to Silence" was a prequel or sequel.
The whole series is pretty graphic but the setting & characters keep bringing me back. I thought the movie was a bit sanitized and certainly left out a lot - as movies have to do or else become a mini series. Wonder if there will be any more?
The whole Amish subject seems to be popular right now. I know there are a couple of reality series dealing with the Amish (or pretend to) so maybe this is part of that movement.
