SHADOW TAG

Am currently on a Louise Erdrich kick.  Love finding a new author and seeing how diverse they can be in their writing.  SHADOW TAG by Erdrich is much different from her THE ROUND HOUSE.

SHADOW TAG is a startling story of the love/hate relationship between an artist and his wife.  It includes the effect on their three children.  There are laughs as well as tears. Erdrich has a phenomenal way with words that puts you in the midst of the happenings. I've found that she writes without using quotation marks and it works!

Picked up two more of her books to read over the holidays as this year it will be quiet here.  Just the two of us and a ham!

She is a new author to me as well.  I just checked my library and she is a prolific writer; wonder how I managed to miss her books.  Will definitely put her on my list for 2013.

Quiet Christmas for me with just my 2 sons.  The young children who usually add joy and laughter to my holidays will be spending the day with their dad....the downside of divorce: splitting the holidays between parents, which includes extended family in my case.  I had them all for Thanksgiving and I am grateful.  We'll have Christmas, just not on Christmas Day.

Got The Round House on hold....Gonna have to wait on anything else...Christmas holidays...Took the granddaughters out to cut a tree a couple of days ago..Had a great time.

What a great photo! Your grands are going to have wonderful memories. I took mine to the nature trail to see the brown pelicans and a blue heron that had a nest.
