TBD on Ning

As we head toward fall are you anticipating some good reads?  I'm next on the reserve list for Louise Penny's new book.  YAY!

Am currently trying to get through C. J. Box's stand alone THE HIGHWAY. I'm not enjoying the read as much as his Joe Pickett series.

Another great writer who sets some of his stories in Detroit or other parts of Michigan is Doug Allyn.  He mostly writes short stores (usually for Ellery Queen Mystery mag. or Alfred Hitchcock Myst. mag.); but he's got a book coming out soon (no title yet) about a character from a couple of his short stories, a former Detroit cop named Dylan LaCrosse; cannot wait.

I am finishing up the month with "The Alchemist," a world famous treasure of an adventure trek by Paulo Coehlo.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Alchemist_%28novel%29  Got to start on my October reads tomorrow by getting back into the "Game of Thrones" series, as I follow along with the HBO series.

My BIL and SIL gave me a book last month titled "Power Filled Living" by R. A. Torrey which is a compilation of his books.  I have only looked through it but it looks pretty good.  I bought a book last week titled "The Sewing Machine Classroom" and I can't wait to sit down at my machine and noodle out some things I have always had a hard time with like buttons and zippers.  This book is so clearly written and shows my button foot so I will finally learn how to use it.  I have started a series by Francine Rivers which is 3 books "The Mark Of The Lion"  the first book is "A Voice in the Wind"   I haven't had a lot of time to read so I am only about 3 pages in but she is usually such a gripping story teller I am sure it will be good and seem to be a bit Historical so I may learn something as well.  I think I may like to read the newest Louise Penny who is always good.

I am also waiting on a book.  It won't be out till spring or fall (I forget which) of 2014 but it is the newest from my favorite author of all time Jamie Langston Turner.
