I'm familiar with the name and that Munro is a short story writer, but that is about all. I have never read her but then haven't read a short story in years, since I last checked an O. Henry book out of the library. I'm heading to the library this afternoon so maybe I'll grab one before everyone else does.
Thanks for honouring one of my favourite Canadian authors, the astonishing Alice Munro. I arrived in Toronto in 1973 and for as long as I can remember ( 40 years ) her brilliant short stories have been a bedside table stable and an oftentimes nighttime read. She is a master at a subtle turn of phrase, her words wrap themselves around your emotions before you are aware that you have been seduced.
It was akin to witnessing a family member being honoured. I was as proud and gleeful as could be for her!
