Rapa...thanks a bunch...we had an MP3 here in my den...I would have passed right over the title and figured Dan'L had another "guy" book. Dennis writes for both sexes that is for sure...OH EM GEE...how in the world does he create the most amazing descriptions of human thoughts and feelings?

Thanks for the 'one up' Carolyn.  I just ordered it from the library.  I have read most of his books and have always enjoyed them.

I still remember the review in People magazine way back when he wrote Mystic River.  They called him "the best mystery writer you never heard of".  Well we have all heard of him since then...

Carci - I hear you - his books/stories - do not evaporate into the abyss - instead current events almost trigger his writings from years ago?  I know I made the comment - "How does he do this?"  Like many of us who write...THINK we can write...who dream about writing - and don't you love it when somebody says, "I think I'll write a book!" - I'm like "DUH?" - the hardest work I've ever done...am only on the creation of cast of characters - and already, I struggle for weeks with names?"  EEEEK!  I truly applaud any of you who actually make this a reality! (and I know we have more than one member here who is accomplished)  I bow down to your efforts.~not so Mellow on this topic

Don't remember who here that recommended "The End Of life Book Club" but I started it sun and can hardly put it down, am really enjoying it. One of out book clubs this month is reading "Mrs Kennedy and Me" By Clint Hill and the other is reading "Home" by Tony Morrison.

A Fine and Pleasant Misery       Cautionary tales of the outdoor life by Patrick McManus

Am reading "Tall Grass" by Sandra Dallas, bout the Japaneses camps in Colo. Then later in the week going to an Active minds lecture on the camps.

After the 2 Kindle freebie books which I named under the "Kindle Reformat Problem" (both rather short easy enjoyable  reads) I read The Hunt Club by John Lescroart and The Hit by David Baldacchi.  Both are mystery/thriller type books and while I enjoy them as I am reading them, they tend to disappear from my memory bank rather quickly after I finish them.

I am now 1/2 way through Love Anthony by Lisa Genova.  This is an insightful and often sad story about what it is like to be the parent of an autistic child. I think I will not forget this one easily.

I read Love Anthony on my flight east and finished it as we landed at Dulles airport.  I was especially touched by the way she created internal dialogue for the autistic child.  If only we could find a way to tap that dialogue, I'm sure it would bring understanding and comfort both to the child and the parent.  Lisa Genova continues to provide us with stories that help us deal with difficult life situations.

Am thoroughly engrossed in Isabel Allende's MAYA'S NOTEBOOK.  If you've read Allende, you'll know she's a fabulous story teller!  http://www.amazon.com/Mayas-Notebook-Novel-Isabel-Allende/dp/006210...
