As Ogden Nash said:
"Indoors or out, no one relaxes in March,
that month of wind and taxes,
the wind will presently disappear,
the taxes last us all the year."

Are you ready for March Madness, Daylight Savings Time, St. Patrick's Day and Easter? They're a'comin'!!!

I'm currently reading Dean Koontz's latest book, ASHLEY BELL. In the beginning we learn that Bibi Blair, a fierce, funny dauntless young woman is told by her doctor that she has one year to live. She replies, "We'll see."
Take it from there!

What's on your plate for March?

A few days ago I mentioned that I had grabbed books off the library shelf by three authors I had long meant to read, but never had. They were C. J. Box, J. A. Jance and Clive Cussler. The book by Box was his first Joe Picket novel, Open Season; I then read The Chase by Cussler. I enjoyed both of them, certainly enough to try others.

I never got to the Jance novel, because I checked out The First Hostage by Joel Rosenberg and got hooked. It's a thriller that has the President of the United States being captured and held hostage by ISIS. Now if that's not a doozy of a premise for a thriller, I don't know what is. If you are suckers for thrillers based on current world events, this one should suit your fancy. So, J. A. Jance will just have to wait.

Finishing up the month with "The Guilty" by Baldacci.  How long have I been reading his thrillers? His first was "Absolute Power" in 1996.  This one takes place in southern Mississippi as murder is part of a struggle with the corrupt gaming industry.  Will Robbie, professional assassin for the CIA, is killing off bad guys left and right in a effort to free his father from prison, who has been falsely accused and framed. His female partner comes into town and joins him, killing off a few by herself.  These guys could clean out organized crime in America in a couple of weeks.

KWIK KRIMES...edited by Otto Penzler. MP3 audiobook...80 short stories of mystery and crime.

Now, I am not a fan of Short Stories. Even in the venue of this audiobook....sometimes I have to repeat the story because "I'm not 'getting' the ending?" Lol...

I ordered 2 more, however because this concept is saving my sanity! We have 95 year old almost deaf Mother in law living with us. She paces around mumbling, worry about cat outside or something in her head? For the most part she stays in her side of the house but insists on invading my space in the kitchen.

I put the earphones on...play the stories and escape from the madness. I could still hear her fall or scream but at least can be engrossed in a story. In the past, FOX NEWS has been my distraction but with all the ruckus about the election...just not very fun for me anymore!!!

I still work at our Office from 11AM until 3PM (thank God) but leaves a lot of time for togetherness!

When the weather permits I walk our Lake in the Woods development and enjoy Audiobooks every step.
Wishing you patience and endurance, Carolyn!!!! ...plus some good reads!

Today I picked up THE WIDOW.
