Read in today's "Parade":

"The beloved Irish writer, who died in July, left behind a last gift for her fans:  A WEEK IN WINTER, about a group of people at a newly opened country hotel."  Apparently this book will be released on Feb. 14.

Her novels have entertained me for years and I'm truly sorry this is her last.  I'll surely watch for "A week in winter".  Thanks for the heads up.

I'm on the waiting list for it at our local library; can't wait to read it & I'm sorry it's her last too, she was a great writer.

Thanks, officerripley!  I hadn't thought to do that.  Am now #13 on the reserve list.

Love this writer. Thanks for the heads up. I will also place a hold at library. Btw, big article in today's Sunday newspaper how library action is filling the need for readers now that so many bookstores have closed. We still have the Fireside Bookstore in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Borders has closed of course.

I have read the lion's share of the Binchy novels, starting with "Light A Penny Candle" and the Quentins series.  I have always delighted in her works and the insight she gave to the wonderful folks who habituate the Emerald Isle.  I remember Firefly Summer and I believe they made a movie of it as they did with others works of hers.  I certainly will read the final chapter of her life of writing.  Thank you.   http://www.maevebinchy.com/
