QUIK TRIP!

THE VEGETARIAN by a writer from South Korea. The book was promoted in Book Bites and USA TODAY...like the whole world should read it! 180+ pages...about 30 lines per page. All about how a woman gives up meat and makes her husband and family frustrated. Ya' think? I finished first 3 chapters...skipped to middle for about 10 pages...yup she is still dreaming and not wanting to eat...skipped to last 20 pages and said..."AN hour of my life that I can't get back."

Just finished The October List by Jeffrey Deaver.  This book starts at the ending and travels backward 1 chapter at a time. It sounds confusing but he pulls it off very well. And Deaver sure knows how to twist an ending... had me guessing right up to the last chapter (which is actually the first chapter) and then... WOW!... nothing like I expected...   highly recommended for those who like a thriller/mystery with a surprise ending.

I started The Boys in the Boat but not getting into it so I'll wait 'til we get home on Tues. for the 2 that are at the library on hold:   A Smile On The Face Of The Tiger by Loren Estleman and Everyone Brave is Forgiven by Chris Cleave.

CARCI...put The October List on hold ...Audiobook. Which can have a challenge with flashbacks or unique presentations. Do like the Author though.

I'm reading "The Witness" by Sandra Brown.  https://www.amazon.com/Witness-Sandra-Brown-ebook/dp/B00BEK6ZWM?ie=...  It is a modern day classic of bad things happening in a southern town.  Sandra Brown has been writing popular fiction for a long, long time.  Most of here novels are well worth the read.

I got a $50 credit from Amazon from some some price fixing settlement (has happened a couple of times before) so I am reading on credit for the next couple of months.  Why go to the library?

Sandra Brown and family lived in our neighborhood prior to her infamy. Now live in Mcmansion area. See her at the post office. Their son, Ryan, may still be on Young and the Restless. Have read all her books. Always a good read!!!!

She is a popular novelist, much like James Patterson, but her stories strike a theme of human rights and justice that make them enjoyable. Many of the modern day novelist take you off into "lala" land and you wonder what you what you are reading.
