TBD on Ning

I use Library Thing to record my readings, so each New Years Eve I check first and last of the year. I stated off the year reading "I is for Innocent" as I got hooked on the Sue Grafton alphabet series a few years back. I decided to read each and every one before the "V" book came out this year. She has four to go.

As the clock ticks 12 midnight I may be cuddled up with a Louise Penny, as I am in the middle of "A Beautiful Mystery." I love the works of the Quebec writer, as I was born a Francophone into a French Canadian family. I have spent many days in Quebec enjoying the country of my ancestors. To me the best French Canadian detective story every written is Travanian's "The Main," a classic that no one should pass up if they are interested in the genre. http://www.amazon.com/The-Main-Trevanian/dp/0151555494

Have a happy and wonderful new year filled with terrific reads trough the real and fantasy worlds of your favorite writers.

Interesting thread Mandy...

I started the year reading the 4th Mitch Rapp book by Vince Flynn and finished the series during the year. I was hooked on that series for awhile.  Yesterday I finished Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich and today I went back to Alone by Lisa Gardner ...which I was 1/2 way through when the Stephanie Plum came up on reserve at the library. I had to stop that book and read #19 quickly as it was only good for 7 days and both Jerry & I got it read in that week. I don't think I could read more than 1 Plum at a time anymore... they have become just too similar but 1 a year is just about right.

Neither my 1st or last book was terribly notable... read some that were much better during the  year.

Garden spell was the 1st book I read this year and am now reading The Protector. Our library gave our book club a note book that they had made up for the kids summer reads, since they had some left over they gave them to us. Each page holds 4 book, Name of the book, author and what you think of it. When its full I may make a file on my computer to keep track of the books I read.

I was reading "V is for Vengeance" by Grafton in January.

"What's Eating Gilbert Grape?"  by Peter Hedges is what I started most recently because it's good and quick and easy - perfect for the end of the year.
