Stayed up half the night with a perfect spy thriller by Daniel Silva: "The English Girl." http://www.amazon.com/English-Girl-Novel-Gabriel-Allon-ebook/dp/B00...  This magnificent romp through Europe takes you to Israel, Corsica, Southern France, London, Amsterdam, Moscow and St. Petersburg  as evil doers try to tip the balance of power between east and west in the modern world of global economics.  I have been reading spy novels most of my adult life but today nobody does it better the Silva.

I just finished Masaryk Station by David Downing, the final book of an excellent six book series covering the WWII period in and around Berlin, Germany.  It is what is referred to as the John Russell series.   The six books are given titles that use the names of railroad stations in Berlin. I have read Zoo Station, Lehrter Station and now Masaryk Station

John Russell is a journalist based in Berlin who is also a double agent with connections to the major players on the scene, including the British, the Russians, the Americans and of course the Germans.  The author, David Downing, has also written rather extensively on non-fiction issues covering the same period, thus his fiction is (at least seems to me to be) historically accurate.

I am now reading Tamarack County by William Kent Krueger and enjoying it very much. I assume many of you have already read that one. It was on my reserved list about three months before becoming available.

And it looks like I’ll be set for the next couple weeks, because this morning I got a call from the library telling me that two of my holds are available: Lion Plays Rough by Lachlan Smith and Skeletons at the Feast by Christopher Bohjalian. This afternoon I will venture out into the Minnesota cold to pick them up.

And by the way, Mandy, I completely agree with you regarding Silva.

Lorouch...just finished "Bear is Broken" and loved it. So different than the usual legal mystery. I have "Lion Plays Rough" on order...should have next week. My DH wanted to dismiss and read the usual Connelly, Woods, top 20 Mystery Authors...but he was hooked from the first AudioDisc.

I have a stack to read and many on order...most highlighted from AUDIO-EDITIONS so full reports ongoing. Been "reading" with actual paper books...mostly non-fiction....stuff to do with health/fitness. One major focus has been "Sitting Kills...Movement Heals." Written by a NASA leader who developed a program to help John Glenn go back into space when he was 77 years old and recover with no compromise on aging. Nope...got nothing to do with structured excessive ...but more about daily habits. One part that I am going to try to incorporate is to start putting my pants on with both legs, just as they do in space, instead of one leg at a time! Lol. Her research has been promoted all over National News, Huffington Post, Yahoo and other sites of note. I am sure it has to do with the movie "Gravity" which I did see and can understand the dynamics involved. Also her program has been expanded to help Seniors with arthritis and other physical limitations.

Lorouch, I just picked up Bear is Broken from the library.  Have a couple of others TBR before it but will get back to you when I read it.  Always fun to find a new author...  Thanx for the recommendation.  :)

Also ordered "Sitting..." from another branch. I'm hoping it will inspire the couch potato in me to start moving.  lol

Going into March with the new PI mystery writer, JK Rowling, now calling herself Robert Galbraith.  "The Cuckoo's Calling" grabs you from the start and introduces some characters that promise to tell a great story.  And I didn't know the creator of the Little Wizard knew all those four letter words, that people in the private eye business use.
