Dog Tags

Just finished Dog Tags by David Rosenfelt and was thoroughly entertained by it.  Anyone who enjoys Stephanie Plum or Myron Bolitar would appreciate the witty dialogue and self-deprecating humor of Andy Carpenter.  I had read a couple of Rosenfelt's books in past years but somehow forgot about him so it was a pleasure to be reintroduced to his writing. 

 

His main character is Andy Carpenter, an extremely weathy lawyer (he made his money the old fashioned way, he inherited it) who tries not to find clients and likes dogs better than people.  His client in this book is a German Shepard ex-police dog who has been retrained by his ex-military/ex-cop owner (who lost his leg in Iraq and lost his job because of it) to steal items. Andy works to get the dog freed from jail and gets drawn into an international conspiracy and murder because of it. 

 

I have One Dog Night, another Andy Carpenter mystery, as my next read and I am looking forward to it.  Another good thing is that both of these books are a couple of years old so there is no wait at the library and we gets 3 weeks on them... enough time for DH & I to both get through them with no rush.

Oh, yes! I love Rosenfelt's books.  I now have his latest, Airtight, on reserve at my library.

I've got to get back to him too. He dropped off my radar then a friend reminded me about him. She's addicted right now to his books!

I picked up 2 more of his stand-alones at the library today...  hope they are as entertaining as the Andy Carpenter series.
