I ran across a little gem in my monthly Amazon Prime free book. It is called "The Ladies Room." http://www.amazon.com/The-Ladies-Room-Carolyn-Brown-ebook/dp/B00941... There is a plot involving symbolism, as a 40 year old dissatisfied housewife finds out that her husband has been philandering on her all their marriage. She inherits an old house and decides to move in and remodel it. She dumps her husband and decides to remodel her life. The handyman is the nerd from high school that she didn't marry. Great read for just $2.00 if you have a Kindle.
Thanks Mandy - sounded good so I ordered it - do not know how soon will be able to read it. Stacks of books awaiting. Reading Odd Thomas - at present - liking Dean Koontz more and more. Good luck on your trip Carolyn - wish I was escaping the cold weather too.
Thanx Rapa, Sounds like just what I'll need after Personal... just ordered it from the library.
Ah, yes, rapa. One of my favorites. And Rosenfelt is obviously a dog lover, so that puts him right at the top, in my book.
For anyone interested Michael Connelly's book The Burning Room is $3.99 on Amazon for kindle. You can get a kindle app for your computer - free.
Already did. I've picked about 6 top selling books on the Christmas specials at Amazon. They are having one per day.
Interesting what everyone is reading! I have been trying to read several, switching back and forth. Havent been seeing any posts and finally had to just log into TBD and find Bookoholics.
Have a Happy Christmas everyone. (Or as the case may be Happy Hanukka!)
I haven't gotten to any of the bad elephant stuff yet...YIKES! My daughter said she skipped over it.
Hey, rapa. I just checked out the Goodreads site for Leaving Time and the first review gave it only one of five stars. The reviewer said she threw the book across the room at about mid-point. (A terrible thing to do with any book, don't you think?) She said it was a "hot mess." Then, a little further down the page three reviewers gave it five of five stars. Aren't differences of opinion great?
Actually, I have never read a Picoult novel. If I were to do so, where would you folks in Bookoholics think I should start?
