I just finished Love in the Present Tense by Catherine Ryan Hyde. Leonard is 5 years old when his mother disappears from his life leaving him with her neighbor but he always feels she is still watching over him & her love is always with him. The book is told in the first person by 3 people in alternating chapters and time periods: Leonard, his mother Pearl, and Mitch, the 25 year old neighbor who becomes his surrogate father.
This is the 4th book of hers that I have read in recent months and every one has been a winner. The first 2 I read were free on my Kindle... Don't Let Me Go & Electric God. I enjoyed them so much that I went to the library and found several others by her in real book form... lol.
These included Walter's Purple Heart & Love in the Present Tense. I now have Pay It Forward (which was made into a movie) waiting on reserve. It's so good to find an author who writes consistently great books that aren't mystery/thrillers... which I happen to love... but it's nice to have a change from time to time.
Her books are happy, sad, heartwarming & thought provoking about love, loss, friendship and what it means to be human. Highly recommended!

All of these sound good, w ill check them out on the NOOK.
I read and enjoyed Don't Let Me Go (free Kindle download on my computer) and have downloaded Electric God to read this weekend. I also just ordered Pay It Forward from BookMooch, since I have so many points built up there. My library of books just keeps growing, even though I keep trading out on BookMooch and PaperBackSwap. I can't pass up a mystery book when the thrift shop has them 25 cents or less--and then our local library offered books free last fall when they were getting ready to remodel! Love those books, ebooks and books on disc!
