Breaking Point by C. J. Box is #13 in the Joe Picket series about a "Dudley-do-right" game warden in Wyoming who sometimes breaks the rules and often gets into trouble. This is one of our favorite series and I was lucky to be one of the first in line at the library when it came out last week.

In this book the father of a friend of Joe's daughter becomes the target of the EPA when he tries to build a retirement home on land they claim is a wetlands.  Things get dicey... agents get killed... and Joe is out to find out what really happened and uncover an abuse of power at federal levels.

Another winner by an Edgar winning author.  If and when some of you read this, I would love to discuss the ending...

Highly recommended!

Forgot to mention that this is based on a true story, but the details are not exactly as presented in the book, which is fiction.

My reserve copy should be coming through soon.  I wasn't at the head of the list for this one!  I did pick up Jonathan Kellerman's GUILT, Joyce Carol Oates THE ACCURSED  and Julie Kibler's CALLING ME HOME.  Still have ten books on reserve list!  I do have a nice eclectic group of books at the ready!!!   :)

OK, Carci and Lynn, I finished BREAKING POINT  at 2:45 this morning.  I've found the Joe Pickett books to move forward with a crescendo that negates putting the book down until it's fini! Yes, would be happy to discuss the ending but think it should be done privately as am sure many have not yet read this latest Joe Pickett adventure. BTW, I've always pictured Joe Pickett to look just like C. J. Box.  LYNN, when you met him did you think he would be perfect as Joe Pickett in a movie?

LOL...  DH & I were just discussing that CJ looked like I pictured Joe...  just as Lee Child looks like I picture Reacher.  My theory was that authors discribe their main characters to look like themselves since they put so much of themselves into their writing.
