Do you use them? I did when I bought books but now use the library exclusively.

I mostly read ebooks now so it's really not an issue now

I usually just write my name and phone number inside my books, but bookplates are classy!!  I was surprised at who some of those bookplates belonged to.  Adolph Hitler and Benito Mussolini and Jack Dempsey actually owned books, but did they read them???  I know I'm being a snob, but I do wonder about where the dictators got their ideas and I'm impressed that a professional boxer had his own bookplate.  Wouldn't you like to know the contents of their libraries???!!

I don't use book plates but I used to write my name and the date of purchase in the first blank page

Some of these books are now fifty years old

When I moved a few times I got rid of most of my collection 

Once I came across a guy who knew of me from a collection science books that I used to own which he came across and he bought the whole lot
