"Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit".....Hello August! The 3rd month of summer has arrived, hot, dry and a good time to chill out with a good book in the a/c!

I'm about half finished reading Emily Griffin's FIRST COMES LOVE. This is what I'd call good chick lit for a summer read. It's basically about two sisters who find themselves at a crossroads in their relationship. There is quite a reserve list so can't renew it. Am #21 on the reserve list for Louise Penny's new Three Pines novel being released later this month.

Anything good on your plate?

I reading "The Magical Strings of Frankie Presto" a Mitch Albom tale of a guitarist of fame, and his life story.  I am also clearing out my Florida home as we need to give it up due to health concerns.  We will be consolidating my Northern Kentucky condo and this winter retreat as we move into the an independent living facility that has nursing care.  it is located in Lebanon, Ohio, near my two sons and their families. So sad, I'm leaving at least 200 plus books on the shelves as it not worth transporting them north.  Many of them were my old friends.  I hope the new owners like reading.

So funny...I subscribed to a site called The Daily SKIMM ...it is a condensed version of top news of the day and often features great wine recommendations! Anyway, they started their post with RABBIT, RABBIT today! Prompted me to jump over here.

Moving, UGG! Flashbacks to 2014. I've moved around a lot so have the ongoing declutter action going on yet, there is still lots of bagging and boxing of stuff to donate or discard.

Mary Roach's "GRUNT" is on my side table at the moment. Science behind some of a soldiers most challenging adversaries--panic, exhaustion, heat and noise and introduces us to the scientists who seek to conquer them. She has a great sense of humor and I'm enjoying.

Have a few things on hold so will be back with commentary once they are read or listened to.
REDEMPTION ROAD is in da' house!!! Be back with my opinion.

Hope everyone is hanging in with all this heat...we need more rain for the gardens!

I just finished Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben. A typically great thriller by one of the masters of the genre. I expect that many of you have already read it. But what an ending! You don't generally expect books to end quite that way.

I have been trying to remember, in the "old" Bookoholics, wasn't there a member with screen name "Moseyer"?  I think her first name was Sue.  She lived in Maine.  If anyone remembers this, let me know.  She may have posted on one of the other Senior groups that have active book groups.

Sent you a PM

I think that email address is no longer any good.  It came back to me as Mailer Daemon, twice.

Would love to contact her if she's still around.  (I remember she had health problems, so....)

Thanks for your efforts on my behalf, Rapa.

Sent you another PM
REDEMPTION ROAD by John Hart...just finished about 1/2 hour ago...actually probably before that but I had it on Audio and got to listen to an interview with the Author.

For those of you who have read it...just a side note...he wrote 300 pages with a male hero and then said...this is not right? Switch to female ....Elizabeth (Liz) and then the story just rocks!!!

So as some of your know I get to sleep only by Audiobook...HA! Not this time. Had to put on headset and wear while cleaning house, folding laundry, drowning out Mother in Law and ignoring world around me for past 2 days!!!

Just sayin'!
Darn, read it and don't remember diddly!!!! Was wrapped up in care giving, read to escape and then erased the story line! Have not yet gotten back to my old ways. Am working on it!!!!
RAPA...I hear you and can not even imagine your pain and sadness. It had to be over the top mind blowing especially if you did not get into a mystery/suspense on the order of REDEMPTION ROAD.

Like you, if my world is in turmoil I cannot focus on fiction. The storyline pales to my reality and therefore just leaves me with a bit of distraction but no real comprehension of the words on the page or the dialog in sound of an Audiobook.

To me...at those times my brain is focused on problem solving not escape.
A-Men!
