"Isn't it appropriate that the month of the tax begins with April Fools Day and ends with cries of 'May Day? " (Unknown)

Now that I've settled with Uncle Sam and have that monkey off my back, will treat myself to some good reading. Did finish a hard to put down murder mystery with a phenomenal ending. Check out THE KIND WORTH KILLING:a novel by Peter Swenson.

Currently am fully engrossed in Allen Eskens's THE LIFE WE BURY. Soo nice having some time to get back to relaxing with my stories.

What are you reading now?

I can understand the problem libraries face.  Popular books are in great demand but in a few months the popularity wears off and the library is stuck with a bunch of copies they will never need.  Systems such as having a one week only borrowing time can aid in the wait time, but still long lists will generally be the case.  But when six library branches combine their wait list, the wait times can be considerably shortened.  Also, if the library can afford to do it, extra copies can be ordered and sold to the public after the demand goes down.  My general practice is to purchase the book on Kindle if the cost is less than $5.  For more expensive books, I wait until summer, when I am in Kentucky, and borrow the book from the local library. My Florida retirement community does have a local "trust system" library that can also be a source of booksI want to read.  And I have always frequented used book stores over the year, but less and less now that I am a E-reader user.

I just finished the 6th of the Chief Inspector Gamache novels by Louise Penny, Bury Your Dead. I have been working my way through the series for the last couple years and, for me, this was the best of them so far. The story was excellent, but I also learned a lot about Quebec City and its history. Nothing better than reading a great story and also learning something in the process.

As far as holds at the library, I experience that often. I have found that I don't need to get a popular best seller right away. I have little trouble finding not so popular books that require only a short wait or none at all. As for the popular ones, the wait often makes the reading of them even better.

Some of you know Danl and I have care and custody of Mother-in-Law age 94. Family members are SUPPOSED to help out!

Also some of you know I am a Moderator on the Site called SPARKPEOPLE....which is for health and fitness. Today they publish a post:

When something goes wrong in your life, just yell, '"PLOT TWIST!' ; and move on!!!

We bought a new camper and had planned our first outing weekend after next...not gonna happen! Actually will have to wait several weeks unless can get Visiting Angels or some organization to get on board. I can encourage Dan'l to go by himself...he really prefers us as a Team...keep you posted.

FLOWER...The Ohio Library system is so amazing! Here in Cleveland I can get a book from Cincinnati or Columbus! The blending of our state just blows me away. So easy, just ask and click...Voila! On the way!

I am about to listen to the last chapter of Stephen J Cannell's AT FIRST SIGHT. Circa 2008...engrossing, wicked, how the heck could the Author even conceive this story. WARNING!!! Intense!

Just did a fast listen to ANGEL'S FLIGHT by Michale Connelly circa 1996..just to test out to see if I had read before. Guess I missed it..Harry Bosch. Gee, I would actually like to see the TV show ...but Netflix or something. Maybe I can figure out how to view? Am a member of Amazon Prime...think they talk about that?

Out for drinks with Client...bit down on a pita bread with hummus...CRUNCH! Broke my upper provisional bridge...so no talking...night ended with a hug! Sigh. PLOT TWIST!~mellowgal

Carolyn if you have Amazon Prime you have Bosch video for free - I have watched it twice and loved it.  Does not follow the books too closely but great.  I have a Kindle that I used.  Titus Welliver plays Bosch and is excellent.  All the characters are great - took me a while to figure who fit where - camera work fantastic.

I just finished Descent by Tim Johnston - on the Ohio Library system and really liked it.  Trying to read Life After Life but one third in and still trying to figure out why it is a best seller.  Ordered Michael Conelly's Burning Room and got it on loan only to discover is only on MP3 and my computer refuses it.  PLOT TWIST- LOL.  Are you talking actual books or e books from library?  I have not tried that.  Sounds great.  Sorry you cannot camp this weekend - supposed to have beautiful weather.    See ya

Like you, Carolyn, am doing 24/7. It will be a year May 5. Last week DH had pacemaker implanted after sudden second degree heart block, so back with some home health PT, OT and Speech therapy. Continues one day at a time. Bedtime is still reading time after busy days.

Highly recommend Kristina Hannah's THE NIGHTINGALE which will make you think you are experiencing being French during WWII. I dare you to close the book dry eyed. Beautiful ending!
Have Coben's latest, THE STRANGER but haven't started it.
