Francine Rivers has written so many books and I have read a lot of them.  I love how honest her characters are.  She can vividly write in the present and the past.  Occasionally her endings are weak but not often.  Interestingly the weak endings do not detract from the strong story that came before it.  Last year I read "Bridge to Haven"  and I was blown away by the way she can show the evil and darkness of sexual sins without sensationalizing it.  She did it in her book "Redeeming Love" too.

She is on my mind because today I am reading "Leoita's Garden", which is a book about a somewhat estranged family, centered around the old woman, Leoita, who is the Mother/Grandmother of this Family.  I am just a few pages in and I am already hooked.  I don't want to do anything else but read.  Another thing that has struck me is that this one book reminds me of Jamie Langston Turner's writing.  This is unusual because I find both authors to be very strong in their own voice.  Another thing about this book is that while the setting is California it and the characters seem southern.  That is a bit unusual but the basic story is very good, so far.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has read any of her books and what is your take on Francine Rivers writing?
