I never watched the show. Well...that is a lie. I watched the first two shows that they did, and that was enough fo me for a life time. I felt that it exploited 'big' people, and added to the mockery people get about "why would you let you do this to yourselves?" or "How could you possibly allow yourselves to get so big and ugly?" and other stuff like taht. I honestly thought that show would not go beyond one season...and yet it is still going.

So do you watch the show? And if the answer is yes===then I ask u why?

that show is a loser,my frieds tell me not to watch it
HAVE_A_HEART, I some what agree with you about this show. I also watched the first few episodes and found it too hard to continue doing so. There's far too much importance being put upon the lack of self control and reasons for why we/they are overweight. I feel the issue of good health and how to attain it should be the forcus. That goes to all of us of any weight!
For me personally I had a very bad fall down some stairs ending with surgery and alot of pins and rods in my left leg. and Disability. Because of how difficult I found the rehabilitation and how weak I really was I was forced to change my own definition of good health. And It also caused me to be realistic to the fact that I may not have needed so much hardware in my leg if I hadn't weighed over 400 pounds. Two years have passed and I've lost 145 pounds and am alot more active then I've been in years even with a few mobility disability issies. My doctor told me that my future mobility is totally up to me. Wheel chair bound or not. I choose not. I've never been thin and don't expect to be....but, being in good health is what's important!!
So in this message I say powerfully, "Let's make being of good health the most important thing!".
Yeah I take exception to using blanket explanations for all. But there are some who the explanations apply to. If any of the people on the show have a situation similar to yours, I can see being unhappy with the portrayal.
Thats great that you have been able to lose that weight, congratulations!
I don't watch the show on any regular basis by any means but the few times I have watched that show and others like it (Celebrity Fit Club) I see a positive in people learning to take charge of their lives and get benefit from it. It doesn't work for everybody but at least they try. I guess I haven't watched enough to feel like its a mockery of big people but as far as exploitation, all so-called "reality" shows are in my opinion. They do try to delve into the participants' psyche and try to root out what may be the psychologically affecting how they take care of themselves. They also deal with personal habits, etc.
I don't like the damn show. Like you said Heart, its bad, and I feel its demeaning to those who need support, not his type either. I feel what we all need is willpower an the desire to lose weight, and friends to help give us support.
it is good i see it as a reality check on yourself showing that big people can do things
I don't watch much TV during the week, and I keep forgetting the new season has started. I have a special program on my computer to get some cable TV stations, sometimes I watch HBO or Showtime.
