(ChattahBox)—The ugliness and mob mentality of the Tea Party movement was on full display last week, during a town meeting held by Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.) on Nov. 14. What happened? A mob of teabaggers, blinded by hate and anger laughed at and heckled a grieving couple, who lost both their daughter-in-law and unborn grandchild.

Dan and Midge Hough stood to tell their story of a tragic personal loss they attribute to lack of health insurance. Their pregnant daughter-in-law, twenty-four-year old Jennifer, was uninsured and she was unable to afford proper prenatal care. When she was hospitialized with double pneumonia, it quickly developed into septic shock and other complications. Her baby died in her womb and Jenny died weeks later. She left behind her husband and two-year-old child.

As Midge Hough began to tell the audience of her loss, with tears in her eyes, several people in the audience, who were members of the Chicago Tea Party Patriots began to roll their eyes, laugh out loud and shout at her. “You can laugh at me, that’s okay. But I lost two people, and I know you think that’s funny, that’s okay.”

Throughout the meeting, the raucous Chicago Tea Party Patriots shouted down Rep Lipinski, booed and hurled insults, as he vainly tried to have a civil discussion with the unruly activitists about the need for health care reform.

Who was behind this sickening display? A woman named, Catherina Wojtowicz, the head of the Chicago Tea Party Patriots who organized the disruption at the town meeting. Before the meeting, she ignited the seething anger of her disgruntled group, by sending out fliers that read: He sold us out! He voted for Socialized medicine!

When confronted about her group’s shameful actions, she defended her group’s mob behavior by smearing the Houghs, calling them liars.

Wojtowicz “…falsely claimed that the Houghs fabricated their story. In an e-mail, she called them operatives of President Barack Obama who “go from event to event and (cry) the same story.” The Chicago Tea Party leader claimed her group did not want to be subjected to personal stories illustrating the suffering of the uninsured.

“What we are talking about is the bill,” she said. “We’ve all had family members pass away, but would this health care bill really have prevented (Jenny’s) death? We do question it,” said Wojtowicz.

“I’m very sorry about the whole lack of dialogue,” Wojtowicz said. “My reaction to Midge? I don’t know what to say.” Ms. Wojtowicz, any decent human being with an ounce of compassion would say: “I’m sorry for your loss.”

Wojtowicz is known for her aberrant behavior. After a 9/12 march in Chicago, she engaged in an online dispute with a fellow teapartier, that resulted in allegations against her of cyber-stalking. And the dispute carried over to Facebook, when she threatened to blow the member’s head off.

Wojtowicz is also known to be a birther conspiracy theorist. What is very clear, is that Wojtowicz and the Chicago Tea Party Patriots are symptomatic of a growing minority of unhinged right-wingers, who cannot accept the presidency of Barack Obama. And the increasing climate of ignorance, hate and thuggery is truly alarming.

And all is revealed...
The major problem is that the extremists organize to make their noise and we don't. We never made a group effort to protest anything Bush did. We read the Bushisms, watched the comedians, and enjoyed the caricature cartoons and took solace in the fact we weren't alone in our way of thinking.

When people had enough of Phelps rubbish at funerals, people organized to form a line between them and the mourning families. These people don't get loud or offensive, but they stand tall forming a safety barrier for the friends and families of the fallen soldier.

We need groups that are willing to go to these town hall meetings, these tea parties, and be willing to speak loud and clear, cheer hard, and boo harder. Otherwise our political leaders are going to cave to the loud nutjobs.

Liberals are too nice. We all need to "grow a pair" and fight back. Somebody was trying to steal the food we paid for by not letting my wife get to it. She just politely said excuse me and pushed the guy aside. He tried it 3 times then went back to his cohorts and said "I cant do anything she's Russian" We need to learn
