Nope. Same thing--lost in one of many moves.
You mom wasn't a fan of wreaths for decoration because they reminded her of funeral wreaths.
Actually, she was quite fond of wreaths. She often made her own.
Carnations and lillies remind you of funerals
True. As a young woman I worked as a horticulturist at the Smithsonian. I made many casket covers of carnations there.
You love the greenery and natural decorations at Christmas most of all.
Yes. Holly berries, mistletoe, all of it
You enjoyed making your own wreaths.
I did! In addition to hanging wreaths, I used to make one to lay on the coffee table. I'd put a beautiful, big antique copper milk pan under it and fill the pan with pillar candles of different heights. It looked gorgeous when the candles were lit, and it smelled heavenly all the time.
You used to make pomanders.
Just one time. (That wreath creation sounded beautiful)
You can look out your window and see lights from where you sit
I can--my neighbors' lights. The small town where I am now had a Christmas parade every year. They lined up on the circle where I live. For the last few years I watched from my dark living room all the kids and excited people getting ready for the parade on their floats and in their vehicles. Bright lights and music. It felt both happy and sad.
You used to love driving around and looking at Christmas lights.
Yes! My mom used to take us around
Christmas still makes you both happy and sad.
It does. Pretty much everyone I love is dead or far away, and yet I still feel sparkly joy in my heart.
You feel the same.
Yes, I do.
You used to have a soprano friends, who sang Ave Maria beyond beautifully.
I did!
You miss carolling or singing around the piano at Christmas.
I miss all that happy noise
You usually celebrate new years in the comfort of your own home
