YUP!!! I used to help my mom bake. She was the most fabulous cook. And, she had a lovely voice.
You used to bake up a storm for friends and neighbors around Christmas. People looked forward to your treats.
'Fraid not, my friend. I didn't have the touch.
You still have one of those old oval ("Granite Ware") roasters
Sort of. I no longer have a free-standing one, but I have a Nesco Roaster Oven, which has a "granite ware" metal lining.
You have some of your mother's original Revere Ware pots and pans.
Not my mom's, no, but the seasoned 12 inch iron skille of my great aunt.
You like your iron skillet best.
I know it's sacrilege, but not really. I don't fry much. And since I was a kid I hated having to keep the cast iron pans seasoned and remembering not to wash them with hot water and soap.
You have many recipes written by hand by your mother and/or grandmother.
Nope - my aunt, again. Mom didn't write stuff down
Your mom let you into the kitchen early to learn the ropes
True, and I'm very thankful she did.
You really enjoyed growing your own "organic" food, then cooking it, serving it to those you love, and seeing the smiles on their faces .
Yes.
You had a neighbor who grew grapes and made their own wine.
No. I grew grapes, but didn't make wine.
You know someone who grows artichokes.
Nope.
You are planning to watch the ball drop at midnight in Time Square, but know that you will probably fall asleep before then
Nope. I no longer watch. Nobody to kiss at midnight--hahaha.
You no longer make New Year's resolutions.
that is so true. I may "resolve" to do something any time of the year, and it has a better chance any other time.
You're taking down and putting away all your holiday displays on the 2nd.
